Rembrandt Bugatti - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rembrandt Bugatti was a young man when he began to work with the art foundry and gallery owner, Adrian Hébrard.
Rembrandt Bugatti, born October 16, 1884 - died January 8, 1916, was an Italian sculptor.
As such, Rembrandt Bugatti grew up in an environment where a great many of his parent's friends were from the artistic world.

Sladmore Gallery - Rembrandt Bugatti 1998
By 1903, aged eighteen, Bugatti was ensconced in Paris with his family and whilst he had exhibited a few pieces around Milan and Venice prior to the move, he was, certainly, relatively unknown.
Appropriately, the opening exhibition was some thirty works by Rembrandt Bugatti, his first one-man show and an obvious indication of the high regard that Hébrard had for him.
Perhaps for Bugatti, too, as for so many unusually talented performers - whether in art, music, writing - self destructive impulses were exacerbated by a sense of having burned up creative resources in one intense outpouring.

Whatever the influenced upon Bugatti, and whatever the complexities of his development, his finished bronzes are always undeniably stylish, striking works of art.
The Royal College of Art's pioneering exhibition The Amazing Bugattis, held in 1979 was for many in Britain their first exposure to Rembrandt Bugatti's unique sculptures.
Against such a background, when the young Bugatti began quite unprompted to make sculptures, it was as if he approached his work with fresh eyes, a new vision coupled with the truly spontaneous technique and unfettered mind often associated with the untutored artist.
