Some people say that after Beethoven died in 1827, that's when the Romantic era began and the Classical ended, but most people will say around 1800 because Beethoven's music after 1805 is a much different style than his early music.
There are actually "Classical eras" for different types of art, but I'll just deal with music since that's my specialty!
